Density: Hard
Traits: Highly prized wood with a sapwood color that is light brown and a heartwood that is dark brown. Once cut and exposed to air, this wood darkens considerably. This is also a very oily wood, and as such, harbors excellent resistance to water.
Used in: Used in marine applications such as shipbuilding, fishing rods, etc. Also used in indoor and outdoor furniture and flooring.
