Density: Hard wood
Traits: It's called Purple Heart because it changes
color when cut for production. It's a durable and very
heavy wood with a good amount of elastisity. It dries quickly and changed from a brownish color to a purplish color. As a dense wood, it is difficult to cut and nail.
Used in: Heavy, structural applications such as pilasters and peers. But also used by fine woodworkers for ornate pieces such as instruments, elaborate fixtures and furniture.
